Position Summary
Community CPA is seeking a Staff Accountant on the CPA track who is ready to grow beyond transactional work and develop into a strong accounting professional. This role is designed for someone with a solid accounting foundation, an accounting major, and is working toward their CPA licensure.
This position requires an accountant who understands accounting principles, financial statements, and the purpose behind the work—and who is eager to use technology, Copilot, and AI tools to work smarter and add value.
The ideal candidate is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, assisting managers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing guidance to clients on financial matters.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of this position includes:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyze general ledger activity and income statements
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Assist with year-end financial statement reviews and audits
- Support managers with client-facing accounting matters
- Participate in detailed accounting projects and process improvements
- Leverage accounting software, Microsoft Copilot, CoCounsel, and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Update accounting knowledge by keeping current with best practices, supported through staff training
- Performs other related duties as assigned (reports, analysis and review processes)
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA exam candidate or pursuing CPA strongly preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting preferred)
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Experience with Accounting CS, QuickBooks, or similar software
- Comfortable using technology, automation, and AI tools
- Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing
- Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States
