Tax Accountant (Bilingual Chinese or Spanish Preferred)

Tax Accountant

Summary

This position serves as a member of the tax team. The ideal candidate is able to advise clients on their taxes, and will be responsible for preparation of personal, non-profit, partnership, and corporate tax returns. Candidates will also have the responsible to review financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex accounting activities and financial
  • Analyses of General Ledger and Income Statements
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements
  • File and maintain client records and adhere to client confidentiality policy.
  • Update accounting knowledge by keeping current with best practices, with support of staff training
  • Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy
  • Support managerial staff in administrative duties as it pertains to client services
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  • Assist with financial and tax audits
  • Performs other related duties as assigned (reports, analysis and review processes)

Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field
  • English proficiency required and second language (multilingual) proficiency preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing
  • Previous experience with any accounting software preferred
  • Proficient with IT and Microsoft Office Suites
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States
